H-2B SEASON WORK
An H-2B seasonal job in 2024 is by definition a wok that takes place in a season in the United States and that is offered by American employers for foreign seasonal workers that are filling temporary jobs all sectors, with the exception of agriculture and for which American workers are unavailable.
The H-2B seasonal job is applied in favor of non-American workers and is needed for the duties to be performed by the employee on a temporary basis and which must generally be one year or less in order to cover a seasonal need, a peak load need, or an intermittent need.
The H-2B season work is excluding the agricultural sector under the H-2B visa restrictions, but allows eligible foreign seasonal workers to have seasonal activities in sectors such as hospitality, construction, landscaping, forestry but even more (resorts and theme parks, cruise ships, ski resorts, security or retail stores).
The H2-B seasonal job in 2024 being usually one year of duration and a valid extension of the period under the H-2B visa rules must be accompanied by an extension request, considering that the maximum period of work under H-2B is 3 years, after this time the seasonal worker should depart and remain outside the United States for an uninterrupted period of 3 months before applying again.
